![]() ![]() Their legendary reputation as fierce warriors and proud conquerors have led some to even compare them to Jedi knights in both accomplishments and fighting ability. Newbies might want to consider joining the Union which apparently will remain neutral.Throughout the history of the Star Wars galaxy, few groups of people have been both respected and feared as much as members of the clan-based culture known as the Mandalorians. OOC, another war between Feds and Imps will break out in a week. We at GNN will continue to keep you updated on any significant developments in this matter as the two factions scramble to prepare for the upcoming trial." In the interest of averting war as tempers rose on both sides, it has been agreed that the matter will be settled once and for all at an interplanetary trial held in the neutral zone, involving judges from both factions along with neutral independents. Imperial representatives were quick to defend the outraged accusations of the Federation, asserting that the trespassers were not acting under Imperial orders and that the fault lay with the Federation's insufficient security measures. However, the researchers were able to restore some fragments of footage recovered from a security camera that had been located deep inside the Federation's formerly secret Usube Experimental Weapons Testing and Research (UEWTR) base.Īll parties were shocked to see the camera had recorded two Ska'ari, dressed in full Imperial military uniform, moving through the heart of UEWTR. Having officially concluded investigations of the debris collected after the Usube incident, scientists are still unable to state with certainty the exact cause of the weapon detonation that devastated the planet. Paying does make playing a bit easier, though, and also grants access to the special Pardus cluster. However, playing for free does not mean you have to look at flash ads, and it does not cripple your performance compared to paying players. If you pay to play, then for ~$40 USD a year you get some really nice perks on your account. Just don't expect to play all the time, but feel free to chat away. ![]() Managing your AP smartly is the key to success, but don't let that scare you! Usually stuff like that puts me off, but Pardus is somehow fun and different. If you like to play for long marathons, Pardus may not be for you, though later in the game you can make those AP last a very long time indeed. You get 5,760 Action Points per day, and they refresh at a rate of 24 per 6 real-world minutes. Pardus is not for the impatient person, though. Maturity and respect for others (unless it's a pirate looting your cargo hold - but that's just business) is the usual. There are many very intelligent Pardus players and 1337 speak is fairly rare, though a lot more common than in Clan Lord. There are many, many other things you can do, be they evil, good, peaceful, pirate-y, whatever. Basically, you can do anything you want in Pardus: Run trade routes in your cargo hauler customize your ship just the way you like it (somewhat limited options, but the system has surprising depth) engage in combat with NPC opponents join a faction (Federation, Union, or Alliance) join (or start your own) player-designed alliance be a pirate be a bounty hunter be a pirate hunter amass credits and build your own space station and, of course, chat with other players in a special chat room (there are a few kinds). Pardus is a free browser-based space MMO with utterly minimal system requirements. HIGHLY recommended, especially if you love real roleplaying and hate 1337 speak. It's free to try, but you can't really advance unless you register an account. I just started a week ago, and I'm in love. There will be no 12-hour marathon level/money grinds for you in this game you won't need them. There's always something new and fun to discover, and going out and hunting monsters with friends feels like fun, not a chore. Gameplay seems simple at first, but like checkers, it has much more depth than meets the eye. Roleplaying is encouraged (almost everyone roleplays constantly), and cooperation between players is handsomely rewarded. Most of the players there are intelligent and mature, and some even type in complete, proper sentences like I'm doing here. Although it has a small player community, Clan Lord doesn't really have any "1337-ness". Although the graphics are a bit dated, what's there is clever, attractive and well-made. Link now brings you to Windows and Linux versions, as well.Ĭlan Lord has a small player community, 256-color graphics (with extremely low system requirements), and has clients available to download for both Mac and Windows. OK, first, I would like to rave about Clan Lord.
